Joan Baez is one of the world’s most famous female singers.

Her music rooted in her strong social Justice beliefs and philosophy.

When she spoke out against conventional beliefs she minced no words:

“The only thing that’s been a worse flop than the organization of nonviolence has been the organization of violence.”

And she was true to her convictions, her opposition to the American war in Vietnam being the best example.

“I went to jail for 11 days for disturbing the peace; I was trying to disturb the war.

Baez has performed publicly for more than 60 years, releasing more than 30 albums. Many of her songs recorded in six different languages.

Her music encompasses the genres of folk rock, gospel, pop and country.

She started her career in 1960 and became an immediate success.
