Krall – a native of Nanaimo, B.C., a small town on Vancouver Island.

Her interest in music started early. At age four she studied playing piano. At age 15 she was part of a high school jazz band – playing at different venues.

Later she won a music scholarship at a school in Boston, then moved to Los Angeles to play jazz. In 1991 moved back to Canada, recording her first album.

After she steadily climbed through the jazz world, winning endless awards, making endless hit albums.
