Sarah McLachlan

Her music introspective, her perspective helping others.

Meet Sarah McLachlan, Canada’s gift to the world of music.

McLachlan is a singer, songwriter and musician.

She took to music at an early age – becoming part of a local band in her hometown of Halifax before she finished high school.

That landed her an offer from a Vancouver record company, starmaker to several other well-known Canadian musicians.

In the late 80’s her first album – Touch – became an instant hit, leading to other numerous albums, hits, propelling her to international stardom.

She soon found herself frustrated with the lack of female musicians being recognized, promoted, discovered, by the music industry.

So she founded ‘Lilith Fair’, sponsoring all-female music concerts and festivals.

Her music and social efforts have garnered her many awards and recognition. She was made an Officer of the Order of Canada, recognizing her vast charitable donations, helping fellow female musicians, and her successful musical career.
