Special in what her music is all about – humanism, social issues.

Special in that she true to herself no matter the cost.

Recently she left the music giant music distribution service, Spotify.

She followed in the footsteps of another Canadian musician Neil Young.

He left Spotify because the service had signed a contract with Jo Rogan, a vile, right-wing racist, to the tune of more than $100 (U.S.) million to move his podcast with more than 9.5 million followers to the Spotify platform.

But her move should not surprise anyone Mitchell has always followed her conscience.
Mitchell started singing in small nightclubs throughout Western Canada, eventually moving to Toronto, Ontario. From there she moved to the United States, settling in southern California.

She has won numerous awards and some critics have called her the most consequential female musician of the 21st. century.
