Exploring First Nations Art and More: A 40-Year Journey

Hi,

George Froehlich here, a passionate art collector, been at for more than 40 years.

Our collection primarily features First Nations art from around the world, especially Northwest Coast art from Canada.

My Art Journey

It all began over 40 years ago when my wife Linda and I watched a TV show featuring R.C. Gorman, a renowned Southwest Coast artist from Arizona. The next day, on holidays in San Francisco we saw a gallery showing Gorman’s work. We purchased a one print, and then two more.

My art passion had begun.

As a journalist and senior TV news executive, I traveled extensively, visiting art galleries worldwide. I often made purchases, expanding our collection.

When in Vancouver, I maintained a weekly ritual with a friend, visiting galleries specializing in Northwest Coast art, always discovering new artists, often buying new pieces.

A New Chapter

Today, my collecting days have come to an end, as our downsized Vancouver apartment has reached its art capacity. But my passion for art remains strong.

My Next Step

To continue sharing my passion for art I’ve launched a free newsletter.

  1. It shows great First Nations art.
  2. Discovers and shows top artists and upcoming artists from all over the world.
