Canadian painter David Thauberger’s works are heavily influenced by his immediate surroundings – the Prairie province of Saskatchewan.

His realist style paints landscapes dotted with familiar images, grain elevators, small houses serenely sitting by themselves almost in the middle of nowhere, small Prairie towns.

His main colour palette, aways in sharp contrast to its immediate surroundings.

Thauberger has lived in Saskatchewan all of life, the small town of Regina.

Self taught, his paintings are similar to those of the American realist painter, Edward Hopper, but starker, not as nuanced.

His work has been shown throughout Canada and the United States in numerous solo and group exhibitions.

His art is widely held in public and private collections across Canada.
