The American artist Todd James started his artistic career in the 1980s in New York City.
He was part of the city’s vibrant graffiti street art scene, creating works in subway tunnels, buildings, and other public spaces – known for their colourful, cartoonish, and humorous style, often incorporating social commentary, significantly influencing the street art movement.

James’ transition from street art to gallery art occurred in the 1990s, when his work began to gain recognition from the art world. Since then, he has exhibited his work globally, collaborated with top brands, and become a respected figure in the contemporary art scene.
Today his art is characterized by its bold, playful, and often provocative nature, blending elements of graffiti, abstract expressionism, and pop art to create vibrant, surreal works that frequently incorporate humor and irony.

Aside from painting his art spans multiple mediums, including murals and sculpture.
