Set amidst the lush farmlands of Delta, B.C., a mere 20 minutes from our hometown of Vancouver, Canada, an excellent adventure awaits us – a place that takes you back to another era, another time, another century.
And then you see the sign.
As you get closer you see a barn with a small door – on a farm that dates back to more than a century. This is the country store on the Westham Island Herb Farm, owned by the Ellis family, farmers in Delta area for more than 100 years – the present location since 1916.
Inside the barn – a cornucopia of fresh vegetables, fruit, condiments, accessories, home-made baked goods, frozen meats from the farm.

The array of fresh fruits, vegetables – picked that morning – was fantastic, nestled among dried flowers, herbs, home-made jams, and more.

After 30 minutes my wife Linda and I had bought a bounty of fresh fruits, veggies, cookies, cheese, jams and dried flower arrangement.
