Chinese gardens are designed to recreate and miniaturize significant landscapes – all containing a building or pavilion, decorative rocks, plants, trees, flowers, and water elements.

They are 3,000 years old – first designed, created and built to complement the palaces of the emperors.

Later government officials, scholars and poets, started building their their own gardens.

Today Chinese gardens are found throughout the world – most of them are major tourist attractions.
