This is a super duper easy relish to make. You need a few simple ingredients and you’re good to go.
Savoury, tasty, tart, and hearty.
What You Need
Salt and pepper.
5 tablespoons olive oil.
5 tablespoons balsamic vinegar.
Cut up your onions into thin slices. We used red onions but any onions will do.
In a pre-heated, medium heat, frying pan add your olive oil.
Add your onions.
Turn heat to low medium.
Every once in a while stir your onions to make sure they are coated with the oil.
Cook for at least 30 minutes.
The onions are done when they have a nice brown colour to them and are sticky.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
Now add your balsamic vinegar.
Stir and taste.
If the mixture requires more cooking go for it.
presto – you are ready to use it.
You can put the relish on toast, various meats, potatoes vegetables.
