Tasting Notes
This dinner serves two and is super fast.
We served it with French fries, a salad, fresh strawberries and blackberries for dessert.
The spicy shrimp pair well with the French fries. The salad is light and refreshing and the fruit is a perfect way to end a great meal.

What You Need

1 pound of fresh shrimps. If you can’t get them frozen will work.
1/2 package of frozen French fries.
4 tablespoons of butter.
6 tablespoons of olive oil.
5 tablespoons of hot sauce or a chili sauce.
2 radishes.
2 small cucumbers.
8 cherry tomatoes or 1 large tomato.
2 stalks of green onions.
14 blackberries.
12 large strawberries.
1/2 lemon.
2 tablespoons brown sugar, if you don’t have it use white sugar.

Equipment

1 sheet pan.

Paper towels.

1 medium frying pan.

2 small bowls.

Prepare Ahead

Cut up your tomatoes, cucumbers, radishes and green onion.
Place everything into one of the bowls.
Take 2 tablespoons of olive oil and squeeze half the lemon juice into it. But don’t squeeze fully, leave a tiny bit of juice for the fresh fruit.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
Drizzle your salad dressing over your salad and mix well. Set aside. You can do all of this as the ingredients will stay fresh and firm, unlike if you had lettuce in your salad.

Cut your strawberries into large chunks, leave your blackberries whole.
Place into one of the small bowls, add your sugar and use that reminder of that 1/2 lemon to squeeze a few drops of the lemon juice over the fruit. Mix well. Set aside.

Place your shrimps in a small bowl to thaw, which will take a couple of hours or you could put them into a colander and run cold water over them to thaw, them which will take about five minutes. Then using paper towels dry them thoroughly. Set aside.
Take one of your green onions and into thin, diagonal slices. Set aside.

Method
Preheat your oven to 425 F. Once ready, add your frozen French fries on the sheet pan. At the 10 minute mark swoosh them around and the bake for another 10 minutes.
Pre-heat a frying pan on medium heat. Once hot, add your olive oil.
And then add your cut-up green onions. Cook for about 3 minutes till the onions become translucent and have a nice sheen to them.
Now add your butter and hot sauce.
Turn the heat down to low and cook the mixture for about six minutes or a bit longer until it has a syrupy consistency.
Then turn up the heat to medium and add your shrimps and cook for about three minutes. Stir them around. They will be ready when they start to curl and turn pink.

Presto, you are ready to plate.
